The Art of Sandblast Engraving — Passed to a New Generation.
For over 50 years, I have dedicated my life to the art of sandblast engraving — from delicate custom glass etchings and custom wine bottles to deep carving on glass, stone, brick, ceramics, and architectural surfaces.
What once took decades of experimentation, trial and error, and hands-on craftsmanship is now being condensed into an intensive learning experience designed to teach the true art of engraving.
This is not simply about operating a machine.
It is about understanding:
Technique
Depth and shading
Pressure control
Masking and stencil preparation
Design and layout
Artistic carving methods
Production techniques
Real-world applications
At CT Engraving, students will learn professional engraving methods developed through a lifetime of real production experience — techniques normally learned only after years in the field.
From custom gifts and awards to deep-carved crystal, engraved gifts, engraved photographs, memorials, wedding glassware, brewery products, architectural signage, and personalized keepsakes, students will see firsthand how this craft can become both a rewarding creative outlet and a profitable business.
More Than a Hobby — A Skill That Can Last a Lifetime
This training is designed for:
Hobbyists
Artists
Creative entrepreneurs
Retirees seeking a rewarding craft
Anyone looking to develop a side business or lifelong profession
Students will learn how custom engraving serves industries including:
Weddings and events
Restaurants and breweries
Corporate awards
Personalized gifts
Memorial engraving
Home décor
Architectural applications
Custom signage and branding
You will not only learn how to engrave — you will learn how to create products people proudly display for a lifetime.
The Tools Matter — But Technique Is the Real Secret
Many people can buy equipment.
Very few truly understand the artistic techniques that transform ordinary glass into something unforgettable.
That knowledge comes only through experience.
As the founder of SandAir, SandEtch, and AeroEtch, I have spent decades refining engraving methods ranging from large-scale architectural carving to highly detailed crystal and photographic glass engraving.
Now, for the first time, that lifetime of knowledge is being passed on directly to a new generation.
This is your opportunity to learn the protected art of sandblast engraving from someone who has spent a lifetime perfecting it.
Not just theory.
Not just machines.
Real-world craftsmanship.
A lifetime of knowledge — condensed into a hands-on learning experience designed for you.

Many people can buy equipment. Very few truly understand the artistic techniques that transform ordinary glass into something unforgettable. That knowledge comes only through experience.

This video shows the full process of turning ordinary glass into a lasting work of art. It begins with the customer’s idea, then moves into artwork design, layout, and approval. From there, the glass is cleaned, masked, and carefully prepared with a stencil. The piece is then placed into the sandblasting booth, where the design is permanently engraved into the surface. After blasting, the masking is removed, the glass is cleaned, inspected, and polished. The finished piece is then presented as a custom engraved product, created with care, precision, and pride from start to finish.
